The 48-hour promise

From application to enrolled in two business days.

The enrollment verification letter is the first thing we deliver. That document gives your family legal cover and answers any district inquiry. Everything below is sequenced to get you there fast.

The enrollment flow

Self-serve at your pace, registrar-assisted whenever you want a human. Nine steps, most of them ours.

  1. 1

    Apply online

    You · About 15 minutes

One form: family info, your students (TK to 8th grade), prior school, start date, and a short statement of intent.

  2. 2

    Agreement + payment

You + registrar · Same day

Instant checkout on the Family Plan: $95/mo for your first student, $50/mo per additional (up to 5). Your enrollment agreement (annual term, 30-day notice) is signed as part of checkout.

  3. 3

    Enrollment verification letter

    Registrar · ≤ 2 business days

Your countersigned enrollment verification letter is issued and your child is added to our roster and attendance register. This is the document that answers any district inquiry.

  4. 4

    Prior-school withdrawal

    Registrar + you · ≤ 5 days

We hand you the exact withdrawal letter to send, and we respond to your prior school’s records request. Your child is never “between schools.”

  5. 5

    Platform accounts

    Automatic · Instant

You get a parent-held account; student profiles are created under you. Parents always control the account.

  6. 6

Course of Study (AI drafts, you approve, registrar countersigns)

    AI → you → registrar · ≤ 5 days

Pick your curriculum per subject: your own or from our AI + Curriculum Library. The AI drafts a family-facing syllabus from your picks and structures it into the subject areas California requires (Education Code §§ 51210/51220). You edit, approve, or discard the draft. Our registrar reviews the final version and the school countersigns.

  7. 7

    Faculty file

    Registrar · With step 6

We complete your parent-instructor qualification record. No teaching credential is required. California asks that private school instructors be capable of teaching, and we keep the file audit-ready.

  8. 8

    Orientation

    Registrar · First 2 weeks

A live 60-minute Zoom with your weekly cohort: who does what legally, the attendance rhythm, a platform tour, testing preview, and support channels.

  9. 9

    First week live

    You + AI + platform · Week 1

Your weekly home plan is generated from your Course of Study, you tap your first attendance confirm, and your child's first submission comes back with two lanes of feedback: instant formative AI feedback for the student (never a score), and a teacher-only draft grade sitting in your queue for you to review, edit, and approve.

Your first 30 days

Four milestones we help every new family hit in the first month. If you’re missing two of them by day 10, our registrar calls you.

A 4-week attendance streak

One tap a week confirms attendance. We keep the legal register (Education Code § 48222) behind it.

Your first graded submission

Work goes in through the browser and comes back with feedback, so your child sees the loop working in week one.

The mastery view

Open your parent dashboard and watch progress accumulate by subject, not by seat time.

Orientation done

Live or by recording. Either way, you’ll know exactly which duties are yours and which are ours.

AI in daily use

What the parent-teacher actually does with the AI copilot

Four common moments in a Basecamp family’s week. Every one ends with you making the call. The AI is a staff writer, not the editor-in-chief.

Trigger

You want a new module on the Water Cycle.

The AI does

Open the teacher assistant, type it. The AI drafts a full module: student-facing instructions, a 4-criterion rubric, and a starter file bundle.

You decide

Review the draft. Tweak the rubric weight. Press save. It's live on your child's plan.

Trigger

Your student submits their essay.

The AI does

The platform returns instant, ungraded feedback for the student in a coach voice: next-step language, no score. In parallel, a rubric-aligned draft grade lands in your teacher-only grading queue.

You decide

Open the submission. The score field is pre-filled with the draft. You edit the feedback, adjust the score, save. That save is what the student sees.

Trigger

You want to check who's stalling this week.

The AI does

Ask the teacher assistant 'who's fallen behind in Math this month?'. It calls the mastery view, filters by weather (stalling / struggling / cruising), and returns a list of student-detail links.

You decide

Click through to each student. No student work or grades pass through the AI, just the links.

Trigger

Your child asks 'what is a metaphor?' at 8pm.

The AI does

They open their module tutor. It answers, scoped to the module's content. It cannot grade, cannot see other students, and won't answer 'just give me the answer.'

You decide

Their conversation is stored on their record. You can read it any time.

Guardrails that don’t bend:The AI never issues a real grade, never publishes a syllabus without you, never sees student work from another family, and never answers your child’s tutor question with the graded answer. It runs under your session and your permissions, and its actions are logged so you can audit any turn.

Then, the rhythm of the year

“We’re the school” means something concrete, every week of the year. Each week is a small expedition: the home plan launches it, you teach it out in the world, submissions bring the work back to base camp for feedback, and the mastery view records the climb.

CadenceWhat happens
Every submissionInstant, ungraded AI feedback to the student (coach voice, no score) + a teacher-only draft grade drops into your grading queue for your review.
WeeklyOne-tap attendance confirm; your home plan for the week, generated from your Course of Study. Ask the teacher assistant for a mastery scan, and it flags who's stalling.
MonthlyParent webinar plus a progress digest email: a snapshot of each student's trajectory. Renew or add modules via the AI module generator (drafts only; you publish).
Each semesterTranscript entries posted; you review and acknowledge them before they're final.
SpringAnnual nationally normed growth test, online-proctored. Scheduling opens in February, and results are explained in a webinar, never just dumped in your inbox.
AnnuallyCourse of Study renewal and re-enrollment each May through July. AI drafts the renewal syllabus; registrar countersigns.

Support that answers

In-platform chat and email with a one-business-day response time. Phone and Zoom calls are bookable for enrollment, withdrawal, and records questions. When you leave (whenever that is), withdrawal is 30-day notice, records are released per policy, and your transfer packet goes to the next school within 10 days. A clean exit is part of the product.
